TETYANA  NAHAYCHUK

After studying fashion design and gaining several years of experience in the fashion industry in Ukraine, I chose to continue my path in France. My desire to pursue art led me to enroll in a preparatory school for higher art institutions and to take courses in contemporary art history in Nice. During my studies at the Pavillon Bosio, the Higher School of Visual Arts in Monaco, I turned toward scenography and obtained my Master’s.

Today, this sensitive language allows me to create worlds that serve as landscapes for inner exploration - spaces that invite contemplation, emotion, and encounters with the self.

The values that guide my artistic approach are rooted in reflection and in the mechanisms that encourage it, questioning presence and being, ultimately leading to inspiration. My work revolves around minimal sound and light installations that challenge our perceptions and, more broadly, our aesthetic relationship to the world. Created with technological displays, these pieces offer visual experiences that are almost meditative. I draw inspiration from abandoned, empty spaces where time feels suspended and silence becomes palpable, as well as from urban environments polluted by sound frequencies that penetrate and move through the body. Between silence and noise, my work is based on a fragile balance between the imminent loss of self and the urgency to find a renewal by pushing our limits.

At the origin of my approach lies the idea that we do not see things as they are, but rather reduce them to labels. Even our own individuality often escapes us. By inviting viewers to abandon old knowledge in favor of new perceptions of reality, my work encourages a more direct experience of the world. To feel, one must be born; to be born again, one must feel. My aim is to create a space where the body can gain autonomy and coherence through technological environments that support, soothe, and envelop -rather than alienate, as is often the case. I seek to provoke emotions and reactions that allow the body to resonate with a different, more intuitive form of knowledge. The form is always minimal, leaving ample room for observation and encouraging the viewer to explore their own proprioception.

In my practice, I capture ambient sounds and transform them using software. This sonic work differs from music: I extract sound and rework its sculptural potential. Supported by displays, my pieces explore the interrelationships between the spatial nature of sound, silence, and the listener’s perception. This work unfolds through videos, texts, or installations that aim to direct the audience’s attention to aspects of the sound experience that are usually overlooked.

Once that attentiveness has been awakened, I have explored it in other installations incorporating elements such as soil, water, or wheat - to reconnect the human with nature. I seek to raise awareness of our relationship with the environment through the understanding that everything is ephemeral.
