WHAT IS THE NEXT GIANT LEAP FOR MANKIND?
Text, chains, mural painting (280x150 cm), 2024
This mural is a visual interpretation of one of the statements in the installation You Have Enough Madeness. What Is The Next Giant Leap For Mankind refers to the dramatic and poetic history of the city of Detroit, once the nerve center of automobile civilization, which fell into disgrace starting in the 1970s .
To access the installation, one must pass through a curtain of metal chains. By activating this sound environment, we are simultaneously the audience, the musicians , and the composers. Like Pripyat, the new city near Chernobyl that became a ghost town, Detroit evokes a post-apocalyptic industrial world in which the noise of assembly lines has been replaced by that of techno music.
