WATER
Sound and light installation, 2022
This installation is dedicated to water, the fundamental substance of life on Earth. The sculpture takes the form of a six-metre-diameter circle containing 450 litres of water. Programmed using Ableton Live 11, water droplets fall from the ceiling at irregular intervals and dissolve into the surface below. The ripples created by each drop are translated into sound, which subtly evolves over time alongside the lighting. Amplified through speakers, the impact of the falling droplets disperses into the soundscape, accompanied by a gradient of light shifting from blue to white and reflecting onto the ceiling.
